A Friday Opening Night Gala will welcome the filmmakers, artists, producers, above and below the line crews, thought makers, implementers, distributors and press that bring stories to life.

In addition to showcasing multiple categories of entered submissions throughout the weekend, distributors are already eager to review NMFF submissions and online distribution outlets have offered to interview and showcase content that is relevant to their site's genre, including but not limited to Mingle Media, Stay Tuned TV and Gal Time.
In addition to our media showcase, attendees have access to an invaluable industry networking experience, including the FREE New Media Marketing Table for use by attendees to distribute business cards and other promotional materials throughout the festival. There will be also be a FREE Networking spot for you to meet fellow New Media filmmakers, artists, producers, above and below the line crews, thought makers, implementers, distributors.
In our Inaugural year, New Media Film Festival had Bella Lagosi’s body cast from the Mummy as an art display from Heart of Clay Sculpture Studio which is generously displaying the actual model used for the new version of King Kong in May 2011!
After the closing night film on Saturday night, we will have our New Media Film Festival Awards presentation where we announce the winners. ABOUT THE FOUNDER/DIRECTOR:
Susan Johnston, a New England native, worked with the Providence & Rhode Island Film Commissions to build the infrastructure used by the Farrelly brothers, director Michael Corrente and NBC's hit TV series "Providence" the New England Screenwriters Conference and helped build 3 film festivals one of which is now an Academy accredited fest.
Susan developed Context Media Studios International production capabilities as well as garnered funds before Senate Committee hearings and helped facilitate the 25% tax incentive for investors of films in RI.
Upon relocating to Los Angeles, Susan Johnston delved into International co-producing, talent producing, directing TV Development and collaborating on innovative projects with her Award winning production company, Select Services Films, Inc. such as:
• The first series ever produced for cell phones, Mini-Bikers, as producer, in conjunction with Fun Little Movies.
• Developing the SAG Internet contract with Pierre Debs of SAG and Frank Chindamo of FLM.
• Producing one of the first HD TV Pilots and Music Videos utilizing the Panasonic Varicam.
• Producing for several years, The Amec Awards & the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles Industry Leadership Awards.
Susan has won the Imaginite Award from Austrailia for Filmmakers who Ignite the mind and A Maverick Filmmaker Honor from Cinequest in 06.

Susan brings the resources and talent from the production and casting company to her current position as VP of Production with Big Vision Studios Burbank where they have an immaculate Green Screen Cyc and Stage, HD Camera and lens rentals which now puts the remaining elements needed at her fingertips to assist with all levels and stages of production in the Entertainment field worldwide.
